JACK MANDER – WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

After many years working in salary and commission based sales positions, such as selling insurance and investments, alarms and monitoring services along with other products and services, I feel it is time to move on to new adventures and opportunities.   I really enjoy working with people, in the business community and individually, and solving problems.  I excel at fixing and helping with problems, especially when the customer didn’t even realize they had the problem or had no idea how to fix it.

I am looking for the feeling of accomplishment, of being able to point to something and say,  “I did that/was a part of that, that is what makes my career worthwhile.”   Having that sense of doing something worthwhile and making a positive difference.

I have many years of work experience in the Anchorage Business Community, including over 7 years as a volunteer with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.  I’m not afraid to take on challenges, or working in challenging environments, and avoid too much routine on any given day.

One of those “if money were no object”  questions that often get asked in job interviews:
I would love to use my hobby of Nature photography, along with the rest of my skills, as part of a new career.

Options I’m looking at and would appreciate feedback on:

  • Buy Alaska, Alaska Grown, Farmers Markets, Seafood, Promotion of Alaska-based industries and businesses.
  • Liaison between industries, individuals, making connections.
  • Account management of existing business/personal accounts, room for growth.
  • Something challenging.
  • “Wow” Customer service, get things done
  • Business Development.
  • Public relations.
  • Medical field, EMT or support that way.
  • Food service industry, not as a line cook, logistics, love cooking as a hobby,
  • Connections that may not otherwise be made, or as quickly.
  • I have no fear of public speaking, meeting and introducing myself to make connections,
  • Making a difference here in Anchorage and Alaska in general.
  • A love of Alaska and nature photography
  • A mixture of some or all of the above.

I am looking to cast a wide net, see what is out there, and not restrict myself in this new adventure.

I consider myself a “go-getter”, able to get things done, or at least point the client in the right direction, to the specialist they need.

Relocation and travel within Alaska is an option, such as the Panhandle, Valdez or elsewhere.
